Registratie mislukt: verlopen / Upgraden van eerdere MediaMonkey-versies

MediaMonkey voor Windows Gold-licenties zijn beschikbaar voor specifieke versies van MediaMonkey of als Lifetime-licenties ( zie licentiedetails ). Als u een upgrade naar MMW 2024 hebt uitgevoerd en de foutmelding 'Registratie mislukt: verlopen' of 'Oude xy-licentie is niet geldig' krijgt, betekent dit dat uw Gold-licentie geen Lifetime-licentie is en alleen van toepassing is op een eerdere versie van MediaMonkey.

In deze lijst wordt uitgelegd welke licentiehouders in aanmerking komen voor gratis en welke licenties met korting:

  1. v2024 en Lifetime Gold License-houders behouden Gold-functionaliteit met MMW 2024 (er is geen nieuwe licentie nodig, maar u moet deze mogelijk opnieuw invoeren). Alle andere licentiehouders hebben een nieuwe sleutel nodig.
  2. Houders van een 5.x Gold-licentie: kopers van een Gold-licentie ontvangen minimaal één jaar updates. Met deze richtlijn in gedachten zouden alle gebruikers die MMW 5.x Gold na 1 januari 2023 hebben aangeschaft, gratis upgrades naar een MMW 2024 Gold-licentie moeten hebben ontvangen:
    • Gebruikers die na april 2024 een MMW 5.x Gold-licentie hebben aangeschaft, ontvangen bij aankoop een MMW 2024 Gold-licentiesleutel.
    • Gebruikers die tussen januari 2023 en maart 2024 MMW 5.x Gold hebben gekocht, ontvingen in december 2024 een e-mail met een MMW 2024 Gold-licentiesleutel.
    • Gebruikers die vóór 2023 een MMW 5.x Gold-licentie hebben aangeschaft, komen in aanmerking voor korting op upgrades.
  3. Houders van een 3.x/4.x Gold-licentie komen ook in aanmerking voor een upgrade met korting.

Verlopen 2024.x Gold-licenties na 2024?
Nee – MediaMonkey voor Windows 2024 werd uitgebracht in december 2024 en net als eerdere versies van MediaMonkey werken MediaMonkey 2024 Gold-licenties altijd voor MediaMonkey voor Windows 2024.x. Net zoals MMW 4.x Gold-licenties altijd werken voor MMW 4.x, werken MMW 5.x-licenties altijd voor MMW 5.x.

Hoe lang wordt MMW 2024 ondersteund?
Ons beleid is altijd geweest om kopers van een Gold-licentie minimaal één jaar ondersteuningsupdates te bieden bij aankoop (hoewel gebruikers, afhankelijk van het aankoopmoment, doorgaans updates van meer dan twee jaar ontvingen). Ons beleid blijft ongewijzigd voor MMW 2024.

Hoe u de nieuwste versie installeert/upgradet

Upgraden van MediaMonkey 5 —> 2024:

Als u een melding ontvangt over een nieuwe versie van MediaMonkey 2024, kunt u de nieuwste gratis versie installeren. Als u eerder Gold-functionaliteit hebt ontgrendeld door een Gold Lifetime-licentie te registreren, blijven de Gold-functies na de upgrade ontgrendeld. U verliest uw Gold-functionaliteit als u geen Lifetime- of MediaMonkey 2024-licentie hebt (zie 'Licenties' hierboven).

Als u eerder het MediaMonkey 5 Codec Pack hebt gekocht, blijft het werken met MediaMonkey 2024.

Upgraden van MediaMonkey 4 —> 2024 :

Als u nog steeds versie 4.x gebruikt, wordt de nieuwe versie standaard in een andere map geïnstalleerd, zodat u beide versies kunt gebruiken. (Als u de versie parallel wilt testen, kunt u versie 2024 in de 'draagbare modus' installeren.)

  1. Wanneer u MediaMonkey 2024 installeert, wordt het standaard geïnstalleerd in bijvoorbeeld C:\Program Files (x86)\Ventis Media\MediaMonkey (in tegenstelling tot bijvoorbeeld C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey voor MediaMonkey 4).   3. Als u de 'AAC Encoder Plugin' voor MediaMonkey 3 hebt gekocht, werkt deze alleen met audiobestanden en niet met de videofunctionaliteit in MediaMonkey 4. Het is daarom raadzaam om:
    1. De AAC Encoder-plug-in verwijderen
    2. Installeer het nieuwe MediaMonkey Codec Pack

MediaMonkey for Windows Gold licenses are available for specific versions of MediaMonkey or as Lifetime licenses (see licensing details). Do 2024.x Gold licenses expire after 2024?
No–MediaMonkey for Windows 2024 was released in December 2024, and as with previous versions of MediaMonkey, MediaMonkey 2024 Gold licenses will always work for MediaMonkey for Windows 2024.x. Just as MMW 4.x Gold licenses work perpetually for MMW 4.x; MMW 5.x licenses work perpetually for MMW 5.x.

How long will MMW 2024 be supported?
Our policy has always been to provide Gold license purchasers with at least one year of support updates with their purchase (although depending on when a purchase was made, users usually received 2+ years of updates). Our policy remains unchanged for MMW 2024.

How to Install/Upgrade to the Latest Version

Upgrading MediaMonkey 5 —> 2024:

If you receive a notification of a new MediaMonkey 2024 version, you can install the latest free version. If you’ve previously unlocked Gold functionality by registering a Gold Lifetime license, the Gold features will remain unlocked after the upgrade. You’ll lose your Gold functionality if you don’t have a Lifetime or MediaMonkey 2024 license (see ‘Licensing’ above).

If you’ve previously purchased the MediaMonkey 5 Codec Pack, it’ll continue working with MediaMonkey 2024.

Upgrading MediaMonkey 4 —> 2024:

If you’re still using version 4.x, the new version installs by default to a different directory so that you can use either version (or if you want to test it out in parallel, you can install version 2024 in ‘Portable mode’).

  1. When you install MediaMonkey 2024, it will install by default to e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Ventis Media\MediaMonkey (vs e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey for MediaMonkey 4). As mentioned above, this is useful since it is quite different from MediaMonkey 4.

    If upgrading from a regular installation of MediaMonkey 4, MediaMonkey 2024 will import your database and most settings. But if upgrading from a Portable installation of MediaMonkey 4, MediaMonkey 2024 will only import your settings if you:

    • Install MediaMonkey 2024 in Portable mode to the same directory as your MediaMonkey 4 Portable installation.

      OR

    • Manually copy the MediaMonkey 4 portable database and settings from:
      <MediaMonkey 4 Portable Install Folder>\Portable\

      to:

      <MediaMonkey 2024 Portable Install Folder>\Portable\

      and, if it exists in the MediaMonkey 5 Portable install folder, rename:

      MM5.DB to MM5.DB.BAK
  2. You will lose your Gold functionality if you don’t have a Lifetime or MediaMonkey 2024 license (see ‘Licensing’ above).
  3. If you’ve purchased the ‘MediaMonkey Codec Pack 2.x’ for MediaMonkey 4, it’s not compatible with MediaMonkey 2024 and 5. You’ll need to install the new ‘MediaMonkey 5 Codec Pack 3.x’.

  3. If you’ve purchased the ‘AAC Encoder Plugin’ for MediaMonkey 3, it will only work with audio files and will not function with the Video functionality in MediaMonkey 4. It’s therefore advisable to:
    1. Uninstall the AAC Encoder Plugin
    2. Install the new MediaMonkey Codec Pack
  4. If you’ve customized the DB location in MediaMonkey 3, you’ll have to manually reconfigure MediaMonkey 4’s .ini file to point to the MM3 database.
